While we say we are an LGBT resort that is secondary to our story. The truth is that we are about the experience. We want our guests to be themselves, relax and enjoy our beautiful gardens and saline pool or soak in the hot tub under the Hawaiian sky while they are here. The entire staff strives to have our guests experience something about Maui. That true intimacy can only happen at a small boutique resort, like the Sunseeker. It’s also why we have a repeat guest ratio over 40%, an unprecedented statistic in the hotel industry.

Because we want our guests to experience all of Maui, we provide free use of beach chairs, towels and ice filled coolers to go out for the day on the road to Hana or Little Beach or on one of the best activities that money can buy through our activity concierge Sunseeker Activities. Go experience this amazing paradise!!

If LGBT is secondary, why have it in the name? The origin of the Sunseeker is steeped in a firm belief of non-discrimination and personal freedom for sexual identity and all individuality. While we cater to the discerning LGBT traveler, we warmly welcome all awesome people and give them as much love and care as every other guest.

Our only restriction is we are an adult only property as personal freedom includes being clothing optional in the areas of the pool/hot tub and rooftop deck. Our demographic is currently about 50% gay men, 35% lesbian women and 15% very cool straight, bisexual or transgender individuals. Many guests make new lifetime friends while staying here, it’s really amazing.

People just want to be themselves and be free, no matter what their belief or background and this is the place to do that in an amazing paradise setting. That’s why our motto is “Your home under the rainbow!”

If you had a chance to see the "Hotel Impossible" episode earlier this year when Anthony Melchiorri and his crew visited the Sunseeker, made suggestions and helped with the remodel of a suite, you know what the owners had to go through. And apparently they not only made it through the tapings, but they also took the suggestions to heart and carried out the improvements throughout the hotel. I stayed in a one-bedroom suite right off the pool. The suite was spotless, the furnishings looked new, the bathroom was full of fluffy towels and the bedroom sported one of the comfiest beds I've ever slept in. Melchiorri can be a gruff guy, but if you watch the show and see property owners take heed of his advice you'll realize that he's very smart at what he does. If you'd like a more inside look at how the reality show covered the Sunseeker, they have a great FAQ page on their website. I get over to Maui at least twice a year (I live in Honolulu) and I'll definitely plan on staying at the Sunseeker in the future.
