The mild and sunny year-round climate, the breath-taking scenery at every turn, the generous hospitality of the Hawaiian people and the Spirit of Aloha combine to create a proudly memorable experience.
Hawaii warmly welcomes same-sex couples and, with the passing of the historic Hawaii Marriage Equality Act, Hawaii has become an even more popular destination for same-sex couples wanting to celebrate their relationship with loving family and friends.
Our wedding partners provide for the trendy to the traditional, the extravagant to the tastefully modest. So whether you walk down an aisle of rose petals or white sand, we’ll be there to ensure that everything goes well along the way.
Importantly, much of the planning can be handled by email and phone, which means that all the finer points are seamlessly coordinated before your arrival in Hawaii.
Obtaining a marriage license in Hawaii is easy!
You must have a valid marriage license to be married in Hawaii. There is a $70 state fee paid directly to the agent or you can now pay the State of Hawaii on-line for the marriage application. The license is good for thirty days after issuance by the marriage license agent. Marriage licenses must be obtained here in Hawaii.
Our wedding coordinator partner schedules the license appointment for you, usually a day or so prior to the wedding date. Both partners must be at least 19 years of age or have written parental or legal guardian permission. There is no waiting period, no residency requirement and no blood tests or shots required.
A valid picture ID is all that is required for U.S citizens and non-U.S citizens. (State issued Driver’s License or Passport) Foreigners can be married in Hawaii with a passport or Visa. If a divorce was finalized for either partner within the last three months, please bring the final decree.
The certified copy of the Hawaii wedding marriage certificate is mailed to the married couple approximately 120 days after receipt from the officiant. If the certified copy is needed sooner, the marriage license agent will provide a request form, which can be mailed to the Vital Records Section along with a $10 fee charged by the Department of Health for this service.
We use several wedding companies to partner with based upon availability and who we know will provide the best service for you. For example, with same-sex marriages, we use LGBT owned/operated wedding companies for their expertise.
We guarantee that price you pay through us (either packaged with our room stay or just for the ceremony) is the same or less than what you would pay if you booked directly with the wedding company.
When one of our wedding packages are chosen, the Maui Sunseeker is responsible and liable for the services provided as a hotel/resort and the partner wedding company is responsible and liable for the services provided to perform the ceremony and related services. Please see terms in wedding packages for respective cancellation policy.
